Introduction

Leijenaar's roots are in the early 80's when development was started of special machinery for use in their nursery, land scaping business and turf farm. Up from the 90's the focus was on the development of a self stacking sod harvester and an electric mowing system for turfgrass. At the turf farm of the Leijenaar family they were dissatisfied with the availability of effective machinery for turf farms. Harvesting was heavy work and productivity was low. Mowing was very time consuming, expensive and often impossible due to wet conditions. ‘When good solutions cannot be purchased, we have to develop them ourselves' – then was the idea.
