Green Zizzor

Although there are many cases where the Green Clipper can replace the reel mower, there are still applications where a properly adjusted reel mower produces the best results. The reels give a more precise cut and follow the ground more closely/accurately. But because the reel mower is a precision tool that is something that is reflected in the purchase and maintenance costs.

The cutting unit is what it is all about in the Green Zizzor. After thorough research we opted for the ESP unit from John Deere. ESP stands for Extra Strength and Precision. We are using 760-mm wide unit with 8 blades. The ESP unit can be supplied with or without a front roller. The back roller comes fitted with a scraper designed specially by us. For the optional front roller we opted for the patented spiral roller from JD. This roller brings the grass up and flicks away old grass remains. For the drive we have selected our own electrical motor system. This makes for more convenient maintenance and is efficient and clean.

The total of 15 cutting units gives a mowing range of 10.7 m. The reels produce a good mowing result even at higher speeds. At 12 km/hr the mowing result is still good, which means that the practical capacity is around 12 ha/hr when used on larger fields. The towing power required is relatively low: a 75 hp tractor meets all requirements.

Maintenance of the Green Zizzor consists mostly of lubrication and adjustment of the reels. Their hardness and stability mean that they require less adjustment. Users have reported a great improvement in this respect over their old reel mowers. Nevertheless, even with the Green Zizzor regular maintenance cannot be avoided. Regular maintenance helps to keep the machine in top condition and this in turn produces a perfect mowing result
