The Green Clipper Concept

To cultivate a beautiful looking, strong lawn requires frequent mowing. It is desirable not to take off more than 1/3 to 1/4 of the length of the grass each time it is mowed. Unfortunately mowing conditions are not always ideal and this means that excess grass clippings and clumps of grass need to be gathered up and removed. What's more, cylinder mowers cost a lot to maintain and are slow - time to look for an alternative.

Green Clipper®, developed by Leijenaar offers the ideal alternative:

· produces excellent quality and   effect
· mows in wet or dry conditions
· distributes clippings evenly - less   removal required
· low maintenance costs
· high level of productivity

The Green Clipper turfgrassmowers have small diameter blades that rotate at extremely high speed aswell as being protected by a specially shaped cover. This design ensures that the clippings that are left behind are reduced in size and  dispersed  evenly  across the surface. A unique feature is its electric drive which is responsible for making the Green Clippers very quiet and energy efficient. It also means that there is virtually no need for maintenance or risk of oil leaking out. The electricity is generated by a generator powered by the tractor's PTO. If care is taken to mow no more than 2 or at most 3 cm during each mowing session, as  intended, the advantages of the Green Clipper concept are clearly evident.

The clippings are evenly dispersed (even in wet  conditions) and it is possible to achieve a work rate of 20 km/hr. With a tractor with Vario drive work rates as high as 30 km/hr are possible! The Green Clipper can also be used to mow longer grass but in this case excess clippings will generally need to be removed and the work rate will clearly be lower than when mowing under optimum conditions.

The Green Clipper produces very tidy mowing results that in general comes close to the finish, a cilinder mower would produce. In wet conditions the Green Clipper often beats the cilinder mower in finish. Only when grass has to be cut short (<25 mm) or when the demands for presentation are high (stadium, fairways, striping- effect) we advise to use a well maintained cilinder mower. But even then using a Green Clipper now and then can improve the finishing of the field.
